Hot Springs Virginia Real Estate

I love the Central Virginia area, and enjoy working our local market, but that makes me appreciate nice properties outside of my area.  Having spent a weekend in the mountains in Hot Springs, Virginia, I was able to view some of the homes that are currently available for sale.  Three properties stood out above the rest in the Homestead Preserve area of Hot Springs.  Of course, Hot Springs, Virginia is known mostly for the location of the Homestead Resort, and with its popularity, its not surprise that they offer some top of the line homes!

First, I viewed 210 Overlook Dr., the home of the original developer of the Homestead Preserve.  A inviting two story home, located on the top of the mountainside, with a million dollar view!  This home was amazing before I even got inside, with its cozy side porch with fireplace, seating, and dining area, it offered a most incredible view! detached garage with possible living area above attracted the attention of my husband of course.  On the inside, I was in awe of the gourmet kitchen with huge center island, “a true conversation area”, and open to the adjoining den.  The formal living and dining room were traditional but all open from the foyer to the rear patio. Every possible space was well planned, and offered the perfect decor for the space.  Four levels of finished living space-all too awesome to miss!

Second, I was able to view the home at 1174 Sheep Meadow.  Another wonderful home that offers so much- 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, large kitchen and dining area.  I was most impressed with  the large windows that allowed so much natural light and made this a home that anyone could enjoy living in.  The lower level family room was the perfect getaway space.  I can’t say enough about the porches.  Just as with the first home, this home offered an inviting front porch and a great side porch for enjoying the warm summer evenings or a crisp fall morning.  I loved the way it was quietly nestled in the hillside surrounded by woods.

And, lastly, the historic home- “Broadlawn”, 103 Talbotts Lane.  This elegantly designed home was one of the original mansions, preserved with large formal areas, beautiful enclosed side porches with double doors that opened to bring in the outdoors, 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. Two full levels of living space, with a third floor that could be completed, and with a detached garage with additional storage or expansion.  My mind said this was the perfect home for a Bed and Breakfast, and the location could not be better!  Ample parking for guests, close to the Homestead golf course, trails to take a mid day stroll before retiring for an afternoon nap or sitting down for tea.

These three properties were a thrill to tour, and I enjoyed the hospitality of all three delightful owners.  If you are looking for somewhere to get away, enjoy a relaxed lifestyle, or open a new business in your home, then be sure to consider these fine homes!
